Healing animals and humans through conservation
Welcome to the Judith A. Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center (JABCECC)—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering understanding, appreciation, and conservation of canids through ethical, hands-on education and meaningful connection.
Our passion for foxes, wolves, and other canids drives everything we do. Through education, outreach, and carefully designed experiences, we inspire compassion while actively contributing to the preservation of these remarkable animals.
Learn more about our history, our mission, and the stories behind the animals in our care—or take a deeper role by sponsoring a canid and becoming part of their journey.
Located in Santa Ysabel, California, JABCECC offers private animal encounters, photography sessions, guided tours, and special experiences. We also operate a satellite location in Southern Utah, expanding our conservation reach.
One of the easiest ways to meet our animals is by attending one of our frequent community events throughout San Diego County. Visit our events page to discover upcoming opportunities to see our foxes and other canids up close.
You can help support this mission through donations, volunteering, or sponsorship. Together, we can ensure that the haunting howl of a wolf, the playful curiosity of a fox, and the enduring bond between humans and animals continue to shape our world for generations to come.
At JABCECC, it’s not just about canids—it’s about preserving the delicate tapestry of life of which they are an essential part.
