The coyote sisters: Agnes and Wilson

Agnes and Wilson are two local coyote girls who have a tragic backstory: They were taken to a local veterinarian after their mom was killed when they were 1 day old.

A woman who worked at the vet office, who already had a wolfdog puppy at home, volunteered to bottle feed and care for the baby coyote girls. At that tender young age, they were socialized with the wolfdog and played with other dogs at the clinic.

Once the girls reached 8 weeks of age, the woman knew she couldn’t keep the coyotes, but they were now too accustomed to humans to be returned to the wild. In search of a sanctuary, the woman contacted us, and we agreed to give them a home with us at JABCECC. Once we built a space for them, Aggie and Willie found their forever home with us at 12 weeks old.

Aggie is friendlier towards women, and she likes getting butt scratches from Melissa in the mornings. Willie, on the other hand, is friendlier towards men, and all she wants is for Dave to bring her chicken all day long.

Both girls are a part of our encounters, where guests can see them in their enclosure. If they choose to come up to the fence and receive treats from Melissa, our guests have the special opportunity to see these magnificent girls up close.
